Waterloo Village Community Project has been launched. (link)
Friday 14th May 2004 at the Lord Mayor's mansion house (in Cardiff, South Wales), saw the official launch of the Community Project. It was a great success and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank "everyone" for their tremendous help in making this night so successful. Special thanks to the Cathedral Hotel, who have agreed to meet the cost of a 40ft shipping container which we so sorely need for shipping all the stuff out to Sierra Leone.

Amazing! What a great start to the project. If you'd like to see some photos from the event then click here.

Thanks to Broadstroke Productions for our promotional video.

At last we have a video to show people so they can see what is so desperately needed in Waterloo Village. It may even encourage people to donate something!

A trip back to Waterloo is scheduled for October 2005

We have to meet the shipment at the docks and get it all through customs without stuff going missing.

The West African state of Sierra Leone emerged from a decade of civil war in early 2002, with the help of Britain, the former colonial power, and a large United Nations peacekeeping mission.

More than 17,000 foreign troops disarmed tens of thousands of rebels and militia fighters in the biggest UN peacekeeping success in Africa for many years after debacles in the 1990s in Angola, Rwanda and Somalia.
